Nature and Landscapes
Urban and City
Recently, my buddy Shane and I went on a road trip through the south of Ireland for a long weekend. It has been a super long Saturday and an even longer Sunday – driving for 9h a day does come at a cost, especially when the car has to stop every 150m for us to grab the tripod and head into the land. Anyway, on the way back to Dublin on Sunday night, Shane suddenly stopped the car and jumped out as if he has seen the greatest motive of all times.
I realised what he saw when I looked down from the bridge where we stopped the car (!) – this castle, I am sure it is very famous, just stood there with a perfect reflection and an incredibly uniform sky. In my mind, I just saw this place with the milky way across, which is why this post and the image below exists.
I hope one day I will actually know the name of the place – I might even have been there before, but it was dark and I was trying not to be hit by passing cars, so I did not even try to figure it out in the moment.

When visiting other people during a photo walk, there are many people that have no camera at all and they just use their phone. And this is awesome! There is no need for an expensive camera if you just enjoy taking pictures and you like these kind of photo walks.
I have seen many sunsets, some more crazy than others, and thought I would by now have at least a slight chance to predict how a sunset would look before it happens. Well, Positano in Italy had me for a surprise!
The clouds were grey, it was super windy and the waves rolled into the beach as if they were trying to get people to get the hell away. This was also the reason that the beach was nearly empty by the time it happened - within less than a minute, everything turned from grey to an unbelievably strong purple. I was so surprised that I did not even know what to do for a second - such unseen light and the whole area just for me! However, I knew that something that comes so fast will not last long, so I guessed I had about 5 min to go where I need to go and take the shot. And so I did.
After 5 min, the party was over - the sky returned to grey and it became dark as if nothing ever happened.
Such moments are exactly what drives me - the shivers, the running, the hoping... Wonderous times.
